Twenty twenty happened. When spring had rolled round I was trying to stay motivated and make the best of things. I decided to use some of my free time to explore how to use Logic and toy with some ideas in Final Cut. There wasn’t a lot of a plan other than to improve some skills inside of those programs in order to execute ideas down the line a little better. Because of that this one is sort of everything and the kitchen sink plus a bag of chips. I like to thank Don Farwell from Earwig for helping out some. Though he doesn’t deserve being held responsible for the sonic mess this song became. He should get credit for the places it sounds good 🙂 Also, thanks to Deena for being my steer head stand in. It takes talent to sit there that still and to go in and out of rooms so quickly. Thanks to Marina as well, who joined in with some back ground vocals.
Additional thanks go to the Library of Congress for Joe Smith Off the Record conversations with Jerry Garcia, Anita Pointer, and Carmen McRae. Also thanks for How to Be Well Groomed a Coronet Instructional Films piece that is in the public domain which I found at my favorite place for finding audio and visual trinkets, the Prelinger Archives. If I had known I was gonna post this not sure I would have used all the samples, but they got a little backed in and fortunately I am well versed enough to use public domain material. There are places out there where you can get cool footage as long as you pass along credit. Feel free to let me know if you have questions about how I did some of the visual things in this piece. Happy to share ideas if people dig things. Thanks for watching.
