It was cool to get the opportunity to do another video for Aeon Corvidae and collaborate on more visuals for the song 88k.\u00a0 Aeon and Eric are friendly, easy to work with and chill so it was fun to get to hang out with them and do some more video capture.\u00a0 Also, always great to get to create visuals for the recording and mixing work that Don Farwell does out of Earwig Studio.\u00a0 I was hoping that this piece would hang well with the song Unbroken that we did not that long ago.\u00a0 See if we can create a suite of visuals.\u00a0 A thread perhaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hearing those swirling, hissing, distorted guitars that fill up the sound in the gaps of the easy kiltered spacious drums made me want to do something a little heavier and darker and blue, without too much going on.\u00a0 A nod to drowning or being under water.\u00a0 I decided to layer things on black, but have a colorful palette that comes and goes by using spots to light the scene.\u00a0 This technique sort of let the layers expose themselves and I thought this would be a good approach to the sort of under water feel I wanted to create with the chorus sections.\u00a0 That there was this place of darkness that was sort of keeping this other world of color and life dimmed out.\u00a0 Kept in the dark.\u00a0 A darkness more on the surface than underneath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve been wanting to experiment with some more slo mo and water images.\u00a0 I was feeling that this piece the water might bring enough movement and energy that when it is slowed down it would have this hypnotic energy that I think really matches the vibe of that feeling the lyrics portray of being overwhelmed.\u00a0 A feeling of too much to handle.\u00a0 Your brighter self sedated below.\u00a0 Aeon did a fantastic job delivering on camera again and was patient as always even when soaking wet and cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
